Explore residential life at Tassajara and how this way of life can help us to uncover our true nature. Aspects of daily life at Tassajara include the practice of Zazen (sitting meditation), ceremonies including Soto Zen services (chanting and bowing), participating in the life of the Sangha (community), taking up mindful work as practice, and studying the Dharma (Buddhist teachings). There will be opportunities to enjoy the precious gift of silence, as well as time for group discussion and individual practice discussion with the residential teachers.
Study Weeks are a wonderful opportunity to explore Zen teachings, meditation, and work practice under the guidance of a teacher. In the morning, participants join the residential community for the morning meditation program, breakfast, work practice, and lunch. Afternoons and evenings may include lectures, classes, small groups, opportunities to meet with the teacher, and ample personal time. Dinner is in the guest dining room.
The rate for Study Week is $68 per person, per day for shared guest accommodations. If you are traveling with a companion, private rooms are available for two.
