Transforming Depression and Anxiety: A Path of Skillful Compassion, at Green Gulch
06/01/2013 - 12/15/2013
Martina Schneider, MS, trained by Jack Kornfield, has taught at a variety of meditation centers across the US. She brings nonsectarian mindfulness practices to businesses, such as cofacilitating mindfulness retreats for a Genentech program in South San Francisco and mental health organizations such as the Bi-Polar and Depression Alliance in San Francisco. Ms. Schneider has combined her mindfulness practice with social justice work and has worked extensively with homeless and underrepresented populations, counseled people at San Quentin State Prison while they were incarcerated and on release, and has worked with the Zen Hospice Project in San Francisco. Her interest in the combination of nonsectarian mindfulness practices with psychotherapy informs her approach in her Marriage and Family Therapy private psychotherapy practice in San Francisco and Berkeley, as well as the mindfulness-based workshops she teaches in the Bay area.
