Lucy Xiao, L.Ac.

Lucy Xiao, L.Ac., is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in both California and nationally, and a resident and ordained priest at San Francisco Zen Center. She is currently running a private practice of acupuncture and herbal medicine in San Francisco and pursuing a doctoral program in Oriental Medicine at the Five Branches University.

Lucy was born and raised in Guangzhou (Canton), China. She came to the US in 1988, only to find herself being drawn back to the ancient tradition she came from. She has the blessings of meeting great teachers in her life, including Dharma teacher Ryushin Paul Haller who guides her in Zen practice, Dr. Juyi Wang in Beijing who inspired her to study Chinese Medicine, and her grandparents who lived through wars and revolutions in China in the last century and taught her lessons of impermanence, kindness and forgiveness.

Besides healing, meditation and Buddhist studies, Lucy has many other areas of interests including yoga, calligraphy, and cooking. She is inspired by Suzuki Roshi to cultivate a beginner’s mind in her studies and pursuits, to be a bridge between the East and the West, and to see the true nature in herself and others.
