Daijaku Judith Kinst

Daijaku Judith Kinst was ordained in the Soto Zen tradition in 1988, is a dharma successor in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki, and co-teacher with Shinshu Roberts of the Ocean Gate Zen Center in Capitola, California. After completing formal priest training she obtained an MA in psychology, was licensed as a psychotherapist and completed her Ph.D. in Buddhism and Psychology in 2004. She has taught and led retreats in many settings with teachers from many religious traditions. She is the Hanyu Professor of Buddhist Chaplaincy and director of the Buddhist chaplaincy graduate program at the Institute of Buddhist Studies, an affiliate school of the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California.
