We have been in contact with Tassajara this morning. Everyone is safe and they are feeling more relaxed with the situation. They had morning service. They remain vigilant as there is some lingering fire activity around, but it appears that the fire has moved through and is moving to the East. Nobody is allowed into Tassajara. Authorities have closed Tassajara Road and we have been told that it will be several days before the road is deemed safe enough for people to go in.
We are continuing to coordinate with authorities to bring support to our people as soon as possible.
We will continue to stay in contact and update this site as events unfold. Please continue to check Sitting with Fire as well.
Please read the letters from Abbot Paul Haller and President Robert Thomas.
