New Year's Eve at City Center December 31, 2014
This event begins at 8:30 pm with a work meeting followed by temple cleaning. Noodle soup is served at 10:00. The han begins at 10:30 to signal zazen at 10:45. There will be two periods of zazen and the ringing of the densho 108 times. The night ends with a bonfire in the courtyard. Donations are appreciated.
8:00 am A procession to the various altars of City Center/Beginners Mind Temple, followed by toasts to the New Year on the roof, weather permitting, or in the dining room.
Martin Luther King Holiday, 1/19 City Center is closed in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As with other holidays, there will be no meditation or open meals on this day. Meditation in Recovery will meet in the evening as usual.
