In this workshop we will learn how immunity is defined in Chinese Medicine and the concept of Qi (vital energy), the key to the body’s immunity. We will explore ways to strengthen the body such as acupressure, breathing exercises, and uses of common Chinese herbs for immune boosting. The workshop will also enjoy herbal teas made from traditional and modern Qi-tonic formulas. Fees:

Lucy Xiao, L.Ac., is an acupuncturist and herbalist licensed in the state of California and board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She grew up in Guangzhou (Canton), China, and is a resident and priest at the San Francisco Zen Center. As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, she is interested in not only treating people, but also helping them to understand the nature of their body and to live in harmony with their environment. Lucy is also offering Chinese Vegetarian and Herbal Cooking for the Summer Season on Saturday, June 11, and Physical and Mental Health and Well-being in Traditional Chinese Medicine on Saturday, July 30, at City Center.
