with Zenju Earthlyn Manuel
in the City Center Buddha Hall
Saturday, October 11, 2014
1:30 - 4:30 pm
Many of us find ourselves stuck in painful experiences in our lives for days, months and even years. This is an invitation to learn how to use these experiences as a foundation to generate joy and liberation within. During this workshop we will discover the use of mindful attention for calming painful feelings and for "gladdening" the mind. We will focus on elements of Buddha's ancient teachings on right view, right intention/understanding, right speech, and right action that can assist understanding our emotions. We will practice sitting meditation, participate in exercises and have informal tea. In each activity we will water the seeds of joy that are waiting for our attention. Fees:
$40; $36 current SFZC members; $32 limited income. Some partial scholarships available. No one turned away for lack of funds. (About Registration, Scholarships and Cancellations
